Are women better placed than men to sell high impact products?

Women direct sales force models have often been assumed to be a panacea to simultaneously improve women’s access to health and create empowering income for the sales agents. However, little research has been done to date to prove or disprove this assumption.

This webinar, led by Lucie Klarsfeld McGrath, Partner at Hystra, will share insights gathered through 21 case studies on best-in-class models distributing health-related products via primarily women sales forces. We will then discuss implications with  Ajaita Shah, CEO of Frontier Markets, a rural e-commerce platform that counts over 12,500 women sales agents in rural India. It will provide a better understanding of:

  • When women direct sales forces can be best placed to reach low-income (women) consumers, and why
  • How much income women sales agents can truly hope to make from these models; and
  • What practical requirements and best practices can help make these models successful.

This webinar, based on this recent Hystra report, can help inform organizations looking to sell impactful products in low-income settings, as well as impact investors and donors interested in this space.
