Finance is frequently framed as an inhibitor to sustainability, and rightfully so. Most finance does not have a positive impact — even ESG investments’ impact on the real world is dubious at best. To achieve actual impact with investments, one of two things has to happen:
1. Additional capital flows somewhere, where it would otherwise be missing, to achieve sustainability goals.
2. An active ownership approach is employed and shareholder rights are exercised to effect positive changes in companies.
Both of these are necessary to divert capital away from fossil fuel infrastructure towards sustainable solutions and update organizations for climate compliance. One approach to achieve this, is to turn millions of people into impact investors and empower them to invest in their values.
We are very honored to welcome in Lugano Tillmann Lang, co-founder of InYova, a Swiss finance company with the aim to make impact investing accessible to all. During our conversation we will learn more about his impact journey and we will touch topics such as:

Bio: For many years, Tillmann has been working on the question of how to make the world more sustainable – and the role finance has in this transition. He has found the answer in founding Inyova, a platform that aims to turn millions of people into impact investors.
Before founding Inyova, Tillmann worked at the strategy consultancy McKinsey & Company for more than 6 years. In addition, Tillmann was CFO of Benefiit, a network of impact investors and is founding director of the Sustainability-in-Business-Lab of ETH Zurich. He holds a PhD from ETH Zürich and studied mathematics and computer science at the universities of Heidelberg and Santiago de Chile. In his free time Tillmann enjoys skiing, mountain biking and other outdoor activities.
