Date: June 11th, 2026

Time: 09:00–11:00

Location: Xheko Imperial Hotel, Tirana, Albania

Opening Hook

Across Europe, impact investing is moving from the margins to the mainstream. Yet in many emerging markets, a critical question remains: what does it take to build an impact investing ecosystem from the ground up?

Albania sits at an interesting crossroads. The country has a growing entrepreneurial sector, increasing interest from international investors and development institutions, and a new generation of businesses seeking capital that delivers both financial returns and measurable social and environmental outcomes. Yet important gaps remain in financing structures, market infrastructure, impact measurement, and investment readiness.

This session brings together investors, financial institutions, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and ecosystem builders to explore how Albania can develop an impact investing market tailored to its own context while drawing lessons from successful models across Europe and beyond.

•       Which financing instruments are most appropriate for the Albanian market: grants, debt, equity, blended finance, or catalytic capital?

•       How can investors, foundations, development institutions, and policymakers work together to unlock greater flows of impact capital?

Albania has the potential to become a regional leader, but realizing that opportunity will require collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision for how capital can contribute to long-term prosperity.
