What it really takes for nonprofits to embed solutions in government systems - and the critical role funders play

Dear IFB Family,

On February 3, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. 11:00 a.m., we are showcasing the great work of Spring Impact and its partners in London on how nonprofits can successfully transition their solutions to government systems and how funders can effectively support this pathway to achieve sustainable, population-level impact.

Across sectors, nonprofits are increasingly seeking to transition solutions and reforms into government systems to achieve durable, population-level impact -  yet this pathway is widely misunderstood and chronically underfunded. As global aid budgets tighten and funders face growing pressure to demonstrate value for money and lasting outcomes, supporting successful transitions to government has become a critical lever for impact at scale. Drawing on Spring Impact’s latest research with nonprofit leaders and government actors, this session unpacks what makes these transitions work in practice, where funding most often falls short, and the decisive role funders can play to enable sustainable government ownership.

Core Themes & Questions:

  • What does it actually take for nonprofit-led reforms and solutions to move into government systems in practice?

  • Where do the biggest funding gaps arise as nonprofits scale with government - and what kinds of capital really makes the difference?

  • What are we learning from nonprofits that have successfully embedded reforms and solutions within public systems -  and from the funders who stepped in at pivotal moments to enable that shift?

  • How can funders design strategies -  alone and together that support lasting, system-level change?

Who Should Attend?

Impact investors, philanthropic funders, venture philanthropists, and ecosystem builders are seeking to understand how funding can enable impact beyond pilots by supporting nonprofits to scale with government.

Takeaways (Investor-Oriented Value)

  • Clear insight into what successful embedding of nonprofit-led reforms and solutions into government systems actually require, based on real-world cases across sectors.

  • Practical understanding of the funding gaps and forms of capital that have proven decisive in enabling sustainable government ownership of nonprofit-led reforms and solutions.

  • Actionable ideas for how funders can adapt their strategies -  individually and collectively to support durable, system-level impact.

We look forward to your participation!
