A major shift in the ownership of wealth is underway. As more private wealth moves into women’s hands, the implications could extend well beyond closing the gender wealth gap.
Women remain less likely to invest than men and enter retirement with significantly less wealth. Yet they also show strong interest in sustainable investing and increasingly want to understand not only what their money earns, but where it goes and what it does.
ellexx, Europe’s largest female finance and investing app, sees this shift first-hand across its community of around 90,000 women.
This raises a bigger question: What happens to capital markets when more women not only own wealth—but decide where it goes?
This session explores whether closing the gender investment gap could also unlock a significant new pool of impact capital—and what investors, financial institutions and employers need to do to enable that shift.
We’ll open with one provocative data point: 92% of women say sustainable investing matters to them. If the appetite is there, what is stopping more of that intention from becoming invested capital?
