Building Wealth in Diverse Communities

Venture Capital Toolbox

Learn new approaches to venture capital that are building wealth for our diverse business communities today.

Carmen Palafox, Managing Partner at MiLA Capital and 2045 ventures, will discuss how venture capital isn't a tool for value creation of a select few, but can be leveraged to create wealth for communities.

  • How can venture capital build opportunities for the larger community?
  • Can venture capital help companies retain and grow jobs locally?
  • What tools can start-ups or SMEs use to recruit diverse teams?

She will also talk about her next fund's investment thesis that Diverse teams drive financial performance and her mission to help founders optimize their most important asset, human capital through legal, organizational support, and embedding DEI from the start.
